Brie Larson (King: Skull Island) is the latest actor to step onto the big screen in the name of superheroing, starring in Marvel’s forthcoming Captain Marvel in the title role. The new trailer just released yesterday (December 3), where we see a war of worlds a-brewing.

Created by Stan Lee and designed by artist Gene Colan in 1967, Captain Marvel is of an alien race, sent to Earth to observe technological development. In the new film, Earth is caught in the middle of a battle between two alien forces.

In the new footage we see Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury ask her about the intergalactic tiff, saying, “So, Skrulls are the bad guys? And, you’re a Kree, a race of noble warriors?”

He’s close, but she’s not shy in correcting him, saying, “Heroes. A race of noble warrior heroes.”

OK then.

Captain Marvel fights to protect human civilization, but she’s also working to figure out her past. Where did she come from? The trailer hints that she may have had a life on Earth prior to this recent arrival. While she might be getting two different stories about her lineage, creating doubt, her confidence is unshaken.

We love her final words in the trailer, “I’m not going to fight your war. I’m going to end it.”

There’s a bunch of other familiar faces to look for, including Annette Bening, Jude Law, Ben Mendelsohn, Lee Pace and Gemma Chan.

You can look for Captain Marvel in theaters on March 8, 2019.

Captain Marvel might just be our new favorite superhero!! Do you have one?? Please share…
