Simon Pegg just worked with director Vaughn Stein on the 2018 thriller Terminal, and the two will be reuniting for the forthcoming film Inheritance.

The title of the movie alone is very leading, anything that involves family and money is sure to result in some drama. The story revolves around a wealthy family whose patriarch passes away suddenly. His wife and daughter are left with a “shocking secret inheritance” that  “threatens to unravel and destroy their lives,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Possibly we’re interpreting the term “inheritance” too literally. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a monetary amount, and could be something else completely unexpected.

Pegg will play a character by the name of Morgan, but that’s all we know at this point. He will be joined by Kate Mara (The Martian) in the role of Laura.

Matthew Kennedy (3 Peaks 3 Weeks) will write the script, marking his feature debut. The start of production has yet to be announced.

We can also look for Pegg and longtime collaborator Nick Frost in Slaughterhouse Rulez

Here’s a peek at the trailer:

Any guesses on what’s left to the wife and daughter in the will?
