Reading something mean someone has written about you could make even the hardiest actor weep. Luckily, stiff upper lips abounded when Avengers: Infinity War stars Tom Hiddleston, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Karen Gillan guested on the latest edition of “Celebrities Read Mean Tweets.”

The segment, shown on last night’s (April 30) Jimmy Kimmel Live, features celebrities reading out then reacting to the horrible things people say about them on Twitter.

Naturally, we’re aghast at the very idea that people could say these thing about some of our favorite stars.

There’s no need to worry, however. The ever suave Hidmeister and the erstwhile Amy Pond took the comments on the chin, alongside their fellow Avengers Tom HollandDon Cheadle, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Rudd, Dave Bautista, Winston Duke, Sebastian Stan, Paul Bettany, Chris Pratt and Chris Evans.

And then there was Benedict, who bravely brushed off a tweet claiming he looks like he’s “had an allergic reaction to bad shrimp.” The Sherlock star actually found the observation hilarious. He has an admirably thick skin in the face of  bizarre insults; this isn’t the first time he’s been compared to something very odd indeed.

In fact, they all managed to hold it together, despite “Everybody Hurts” by R.E.M. playing in the background.

Watch and cringe:

Do you think they all had a big group cry afterward?
