The much-loved ’90s show, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, is getting a refresh with the Netflix original series The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. (We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: 2018 is the year of the reboot.)

So what do we know about the all-new Sabrina? The leads have been announced, with Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men) taking on the role of Sabrina Spellman — a character made famous by Melissa Joan Hart in the original — and Ross Lynch is set to play her boyfriend, Harvey Kinkle. Lucy Davis and Miranda Otto are confirmed to portray her witch-y aunts, Hilda and Zelda, respectively. Rounding out the cast is Doctor Who‘s Michelle Gomez, who’ll take on the role of Sabrina’s favorite teacher, Mary Wardell.

Then yesterday, the show’s creator and writer, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, had the pleasure of releasing the first photo of Sabrina and Harvey on a romantic stroll, hand-in-hand:

Aw! We think it’s cute that Aguirre-Sacasa adopted teenage lingo to caption the googly-eyed teenagers in the pic.”Adorbs” indeed!

Also worth noting is that the first look shows Sabrina and Harvey all loved-up. With the series billed aa darker take on the source material — the 2014 graphic novel, which was inspired by the original comics — we’d have expected something a little more… foreboding. Possibly this is the calm before the chaos? We know, for instance, that Sabrina’s favorite teacher, Mary Wardell (Gomez), will at some point become possessed by the devil’s handmaiden Madam Satan.

This kind of occultish occurrence could well put a damper on their budding relationship.

But we’ll have to wait and see how it plays out when the 10 hour-long episodes air on Netflix later this year, although the date has yet to be announced.

What do you think of the new witch in town?
