Her time as Missy might have come to an end, but Michelle Gomez isn’t finished playing arch villains just yet.

Variety reports the Doctor Who actress will play Mary Wardell, an evil teacher possessed by the devil in Netflix’s upcoming reboot of Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

The new role certainly sounds familiar: One of Sabrina’s favorite teachers at Baxter High, Mary is transformed by the devil’s handmaiden Madam Satan into a “sultry, cunning manipulator” who tries to turn Sabrina evil. Yikes.

As Michelle’s role suggests, the reboot is a much darker take on the source material than the 1990s series starring Melissa Joan Hart. It will be more in line with The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, the 2014 graphic horror novel inspired by the original comics.

Described as in the vein of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist, it finds Sabrina Spellman (Mad Men‘s breakout star Kiernan Shipka) wrestling to reconcile her dual nature as a half-witch, half-mortal while fighting the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit.

Okay, so we’d say that was pretty different. The new Salem the Cat certainly looks a lot less animatronic:

The new series will also serve as a companion to supernatural high school drama Riverdale, which is also based on characters from Archie Comics.

The first two seasons of the Sabrina the Teenage Witch reboot are expected to launch later this year.

Are you looking forward to seeing Missy face off with Sabrina?
