Angelina Jolie was at the Telluride Film Festival this past weekend (September 2) where she premiered First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Camodia Remembers, reports Deadline.

Jolie directed the film, an adaptation of Loung Ung‘s 2000 memoir about surviving wartime in Cambodia as a child. When Jolie was asked at the festival if she had any more directorial projects lined up, she explained her focus is shifting back to acting and is currently working on the Maleficent sequel.

“I am now the breadwinner for the family, so it’s time,” said Jolie jokingly at the film fest. “We have been working on the script (for Maleficent) and this is going to be a really strong sequel.”

She’s clearly referring to her public divorce from fellow actor Brad Pitt, but joking or not, she always carried her weight, topping Forbes’ 2013 highest-paid actresses list. The original Maleficent, which premiered in 2014, brought in over $700 million dollars worldwide alone.

The Disney film revolves around a young fairy who is betrayed by the man she loves when he cuts off her wings. She then turns… dark. Maleficent turns her anger on an infant princess, cursing her to sleep for eternity following a prick of the finger from a spindle on a spinning wheel.

Doe this sound familiar? Yes, it’s a different POV of Sleeping Beauty.

If you need a reminder, here’s a look at the trailer:

So, to sum it up, Maleficent wasn’t always evil, she turned to the dark side. And at the end of the original, she started to take another turn… possibly for the better. It will be interesting to see where the sequel picks up. Will she maintain that good streak? Or, more than likely, will someone else piss her off?

Jolie recently starred in 2015’s By the Sea and lent her voice to the Kung Fu Panda series as Tigress. She’s definitely been working, but not at the same pace as her earlier days.
