Word started to spread over the weekend (June 23) that Mark Hamill — best-known for playing Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars trilogy — will get his very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2018.

And what was Hamill’s response to the honor? Here’s his tweet, which sums it up in one word:

Aw, that’s sweet. Though, as we discovered when Anglophenia met him at a red carpet event a few weeks back, Hamill is anything but speechless in person. He’s a delight to talk to and happily riffed on a range of topics, like the first time he met James Earl Jones, who provided the voice of Darth Vader, Luke’s father. Hint: it wasn’t on the set of Star Wars — they actually never met during filming.

And, he describes his introduction to Doctor Who. Another hint: it predated his love for Star Wars.

In case that wasn’t enough, Hamill also revealed his thoughts on Star Wars being made into a Broadway play:

Hamill reprised his iconic role at the very end of the latest addition to the franchise, 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens. We can also look for him in 2017’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi. But, needless to say, he didn’t talk about the forthcoming film, or his role, with the storyline being kept very hush, hush.

For now, we’ll have to rely on his fun-filled Twitter antics to keep our Star Wars wants at bay:

Hamill will be a part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame’s Class of 2018. We expect when the time comes he’ll find his words.

We look forward to it — congratulations, Mark!

Do you think this was a long time coming?
