Busy Benedict is currently on a bit of a hiatus, having recently wrapped production on The Current War and upcoming TV drama The Child in Time before reprising his role as Dr. Strange for Avengers: Infinity War, and we must admit we’ve missed him.
Just as we’d stared to wonder what had happened to him, however, he popped up in an unexpected place: an automotive site called Carscoops, plugging a new make of car. And it’s not the first time Cumberbatch has dabbled in automobile advertizing. Or even the second.
Anyhow, he’s not taken the opportunity of this rare break in his schedule to become an actual car salesman, but instead visited London Fashion Week Men’s for a few tips from the city’s style mavens. Among the sponsors for the bi-annual fashion event is Mercedes-Benz, hence Benedict trying his hand at promoting a new brand of car. In a clip he also gave us a little insight into his own sense of style — or lack thereof, if you believe the man himself.
There’s also some talk about a car and plug-in doodahs and braking systems, but to be perfectly frank, by that point we weren’t really listening:
