We recently did a post on Catastrophe making us laugh so hard, to the point of tears… but, a TV show being so funny it lands you on the ground? Even Veep star Julia Louis-Dreyfus didn’t quite believe it.

But, it’s true.

Australian MP Graham Perrett set the stage, talking to BuzzFeed News about watching the HBO political comedy, saying, “I was laughing so hard… some of the rice went down the wrong way. I started choking and kind of stumbled forward and knocked my head on the corner of the kitchen cabinet.”

It turns out his wife found him on the ground, unconscious, with “blood everywhere.” This is definitely an alarming sight to come upon, but it turns out Perrett was okay. Whew!

He continues on with his story, saying, “I must have been out for only a few seconds because, when I came to again, I was still laughing at Jonah.”

Louis-Dreyfus heard the story, tweeting out her dismay and a very pertinent question to the PM:

The Veep star sent her well-wishes to the politician:

This humorous exchange can be a good lesson for all of us. Watch TV on a full stomach, no snacking, sitting down…
