It’s safe to presume Emma Watson knows a thing or two about productive studying. Hogwarts may have been imaginary (sadly), but the British actress went back to school after finishing the Harry Potter films and hit the books hard. In May 2014, after studying at both Brown University in the U.S and Oxford University in the U.K., she graduated from Brown with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature. Respect.

So when Watson was asked to give a Harry Potter fan a much-needed study boost recently, this Ivy League grad knew exactly what to do. Therese Kiara, a student from New York City, wrote on Facebook that her mom bumped into the Hermione Granger actress while she was out and about in the Big Apple. “My Mom called to show Emma Watson standing behind her,” Kiara told her Facebook friends excitedly. “Then she approached and politely asked Emma if she can say hi to me on the cam.”

Watson duly obliged and told Kiara to “study hard” for her upcoming biology test — simple yet invaluable advice that Hermione, a straight-A student, would surely approve of.

Kiara was clearly thrilled by her FaceTime session with the actress, telling her friends, “OH GOOD LORD, I CAN NOT BREATHE. Perfect motivation to study.”

Check out more of Kiara’s post below.

At the time of writing, Kiara’s status had been liked 113,000 times and shared 15,000 times. Result! Let’s hope Kiara’s biology test score is equally impressive.

And if Watson’s asked to donate a prize to a charity auction any time soon, she could certainly do worse than offer a motivational online tutorial to another lucky student who needs a boost while cramming.

In the meantime, the rest of us can make do with Hermione Granger’s own reassuring advice from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban: “I never feel you perform as well in exams if you’re not a bit nervous.” She’s not wrong, is she?

Are you impressed with Emma’s willingness to help out this student?
