Well, that’s one way to put yourself in the running for the James Bond job.
According to the BBC, police have confirmed the actor Tom Hardy helped apprehend a thief trying to steal a motorbike in London over the weekend.
The Taboo star was apparently minding his own business in Richmond in south-west London on Sunday (April 23), when two teenagers on the stolen bike crashed into a car beside him and ran off.
Cue a death-defying race across what one witness described as an “assault course” — through gardens, over fences, and vaulting walls — until Tom grabbed one of the teenagers as he tried to escape and put him under citizen’s arrest.
Phew! Clearly he’s used to playing action heroes in movies such as Mad Max and The Dark Knight Rises, but this is taking it a bit far. He might have also inadvertently sparked a mini-crimewave, as fans took to Twitter to express their, um, support for his vigilante actions:
#TomHardy makes me want to turn to a life of crime. Chase me Tom!

Needless to say, British bookmakers have slashed the odds on Tom succeeding Daniel Craig as the next 007. As of today (April 26) he’s at 5/2, making him the joint favourite with Idris Elba (5/2) followed by Poldark‘s Aidan Turner and Michael Fassbender at 3/1.
Tom hasn’t let his crime-fighting escapades, plus the ensuing accolades and Bond talk, go to his head, however. Just today (April 26) he’s been spotted back at work filming Peaky Blinders in Manchester with Cillian Murphy.
Do you think Tom would make a good 007?Read More
