Last month it was announced Mr. Robot star Rami Malek would be playing Freddie Mercury in a new Queen biopic, but forgive us if we haven’t counted our chickens just yet.

That’s because he wasn’t the first actor to be in line for the part. Before him it was Sacha Baron Cohen, who eventually dropped out of the project after disagreeing with the band on the direction it should take, and before him it was Paddington Bear himself, Ben Whishaw.

So it was with some trepidation we heard the news a third actor had been lined up — trepidation that can now be thrown out the window thanks to Rami’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night (December 13).

After reminiscing with Jimmy about his recent Emmy win and recalling his days as a pizza delivery boy, Rami confirmed he’d be playing the legendary band frontman, and it certainly seems like he’s a fan.

“I love that music,” he said. “Who doesn’t love that music? He’s one of the most iconic characters… musicians… anybody in human history.”

He’s such a fan, in fact, he even went so far as to try on a Freddie-style moustache.

Check him out in all his philtrum finery:

What do you think — can you see the resemblance now?
