We already knew Eddie Redmayne went to the same school as Tom Hiddleston, the prestigious British private school Eton College that also counts Princes William and Harry among its alumni, not to mention Hugh Laurie and Damian Lewis.

But last night (November 17) during Eddie’s appearance on The Late Late Show we found out he also went to school with host James Corden.

The two old schoolmates quickly fell to reminiscing about their days at the Jackie Palmer Stage School in the 1990s, when a young Eddie would impress audiences with his rendition of “Memory” from Cats.

James, who was four years older than him and, according to him anyway, one of the “cool” kids, remembered the performance well. Not only did he remember it, but he couldn’t help but wonder: “If only we had a clip of you singing that?”

Cue Eddie almost falling off his seat in toe-curling embarrassment:

James’s other guest Jessica Chastain wasn’t immune either from the first rule of becoming famous: never let anyone, anywhere, film or take pictures of you beforehand.

You can also find Eddie up on the big screen starting tonight.

What was your reaction to Eddie’s reaction?
