We already knew Benedict Cumberbatch was special. He made math look simple as Alan Turing in The Imitation Game, clueing for looks elementary in Sherlock, and in upcoming Marvel movie Doctor Strange he’s nothing less than the Sorcerer Supreme.

But now it’s official: Our Ben is actually magic.

To celebrate being the cover star of the November edition of Vanity Fair, he  was filmed performing a little magic trick using just a water bottle, some water, and a straw.

Okay, so he may have had a little help on this one from Kevin James, the award-winning magician from The Illusionists, but still, it’s pretty impressive. Benedict manages to stop the water from spilling, no matter what he does to the bottle, until he replaces the cap, then removes it again, allowing the water to pour freely once more… all while giving us a lesson on water conservation.

Trust us, you’re going to have to watch this multiple times:

What. Just. Happened.

Any ideas how he did it?
