Max Landis is not only a screenwriter but a self-professed fanboy. Which can be a ton of fun but also distracting at an event like the BBC America BAFTA TV Tea (September 19).

Landis has adapted Douglas Adams‘ novel Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency into a comedic-thriller TV series, premiering on BBC America on October 22 at 9pm Eastern.

He and his cool bow tie sat down with Anglophenia’s Maude Garrett for a chat. Landis explained how hard it is not to geek out when running into back-to-back idols all in one room:
