Mindy Kaling‘s character in The Mindy Project is never short of an admirer or two, and last time we saw her she was trying to decide between her baby daddy (Chris Messina) and co-worker Jody (Garrett Dillahunt).

Ah, decisions, decisions. And if that wasn’t hard enough, the next season looks set to complicate things even further, with Jack Davenport becoming the latest name on the lucky lady’s list of suitors.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Good Wife star will play an English stage actor known as the “bad boy of the West End” with the faintly ludicrous name of “Leland Breakfast”, who, having arrived in New York to star in a one-man show, ends up taking an interest in our Mindy.

We wonder what Missy—a.k.a. Jack’s wife Michelle Gomez—would have to say about that.

Jack is certainly a good fit for the part. He’s got form playing rakish characters, what with his role as surly Broadway director Derek Wills in Smash, or his turn as Admiral Norrington in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, though Leland sounds a million miles from sensible Steve from Steven Moffat‘s Coupling.

He joins a bumper crop of guest stars in the upcoming season, including Bill Hader, Anders Holm, and B.J. Novak, who all played Mindy’s boyfriends at one point or other on the show. Poor Mindy. That decision isn’t coming any time soon, is it?

Season five of The Mindy Project starts on October 4 on Hulu.
