The idea of Dame Helen Mirren getting in on some street racing action seemed a little incongruous at first, but now—ah, who are we kidding? It’s still a bit strange.

We’ve known since June she’s been cast in the eighth outing of the Fast and Furious franchise, and then a few weeks later she let us in on a rather tongue-in-cheek request, but it wasn’t until yesterday (August 3) we got proof that it was definitely, categorically, happening. Co-star Vin Diesel shared the following snap on his Instagram account:

Such a joy and an honor working with Helen Miren… Happy Toretto Tursday!

She certainly looks her usual stunning self, despite there still being no information on what exactly her role will be (though whatever it is, this photo makes us want a Toretto-Mirren spin-off, stat).

She joins regulars Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Jason StathamChris “Ludacris” BridgesScott Eastwood, and Nathalie Emmanuel, as well as two other recent additions to the cast: Charlize Theron, who’ll be playing a baddie, and Game of ThronesKristofer Hivju as her evil henchman.

Fast 8 is halfway through filming and will open in theaters April 14, 2017.
