Today (July 6) is Eid, the day Ramadan and a month of fasting comes to an end for Muslims around the world. But as well as its religious significance, it also heralds a weekend that rivals Independence Day weekend for box office takings.

And in India, Eid weekend wouldn’t be Eid weekend without Salman Khan. One of the Bollywood’s biggest stars, Khan has dominated this weekend in recent years with blockbusters such as Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Kick (2014), and 2015’s smash hit Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which was the most successful Bollywood movie in the U.S. last year, raking in over $8 million.

This year he’s almost unrecognizable in Sultan, having bulked up and grown a moustache to play ex-wrestler Sultan Ali Khan, who must defeat the odds stacked against him to make a stunning comeback.

There are obvious comparisons to be made with that ultimate of underdog movies—Rocky, of course—although, this being Bollywood, there’s also plenty of romance, music, and action in the mix.

Anushka Sharma (PK, NH10), Amit Sadh (Guddu Rangeela), and real-life wrestler Tyron Woodley also star alongside Salman, while the role of Sultan’s coach was eventually taken by Randeep Hooda (Monsoon Wedding).
