Whoa. So it looks like that time James McAvoy shaved his head for X-Men: Apocalypse wasn’t the only time he’s felt the buzz of an electric razor. His hair is once again cropped close to his head in the trailer for upcoming movie Split.

In it, James—a.k.a. Lovely James McAvoy, who stole our hearts in 2005 as Mr. Tumnus in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, broke them as the wronged Robbie Turner in 2007’s Atonement, before melting them as a young Professor X in the X-Men movies—has gone full psycho.

He plays Kevin, a sadistic chap who’s keeping three girls captive in a basement. Or does he? Because it quickly becomes clear Kevin is not just Kevin, but actually host to 24 different personalities. And, unless we’re hearing things, it seems at least one of them is a 9-year-old boy called Hedwig:

Spooked yet? It’ll come as no surprise then that this is is the latest offering from M. Night Shyamalan, the writer-director behind creepy classics like The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, and Signs.

“Creepy” doesn’t even begin to describe James’s performance here, though; roll on January 20, 2017, when Split opens in theaters, and he can spook us some more.
