When we last saw Michael Fassbender in 2012’s Prometheus, his character was left in a rather dire situation.
If you haven’t seen the Alien prequel just yet, fair warning we’re about to drop a spoiler … by the end of the film, Fassbender, who portrayed an android, was only a head and stranded alone on a planet not his own. Being artificial life, he was able to carry on.
We’ve seen other reports celebrating the below picture, released by 20th Century Fox, that Fassbender is back at full force with a head and body. We hate to be the bearer of bad news and point out the obvious, but it’s not confirmed that he’s actually in character in the below, sitting on the sidelines while director Ridley Scott gives directions.

But, on the other hand, RadioTimes gives us hope, saying the forthcoming story is expected to have two models of the android portrayed by Fassbender. The earlier model, David, had blonde hair, and in the above picture he has brown hair. This may indicate he will be playing two roles or an updated version of David.
It would seem like a waste of Fassy and all he has to offer, to only watch his head sit or be carried around throughout the entire film. Fingers crossed he will be walking, talking, and all that good stuff that comes with a head and body combo.
Fassbender is set to star opposite Katherine Waterston (Boardwalk Empire), Danny McBride (Vice Principals), Demián Bichir (The Hateful Eight), Jussie Smollett (Empire), Amy Seimetz (The Girlfriend Experience), Carmen Ejogo (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them), Callie Hernandez (The Woods), and Billy Crudup (Watchmen).
Alien Covenant will hit theaters on August 4, 2017.
