We all know the rules by now: James Corden needs a passenger to use L.A.’s carpool lanes, so he calls on good friend Gwen Stefani. That was just the beginning of an epic “Carpool Karaoke” on last night’s (May 4) Late Late Show, however.

At first Gwen was game when it came to singing some of her best-known hits, such as “Don’t Speak” from her days in No Doubt; her recent smash “Used to Love You”; and 2006’s “The Sweet Escape”, which includes a line sung so fast even James, the king of pop-lyrics, couldn’t get his head around.

But then L.A.’s traffic rules intervened. What if James didn’t need just one celebrity carpooler, but THREE?

No problem-o. James called an A-lister he knew would have “nothing else better to do,” and when he arrived, sending the audience into overdrive, he called his Money Monster co-star to join the ride too.

Have you guessed who they are yet? How about this for another clue: it turned out the two megastars are big fans of Gwen’s hit “Hollaback Girl” and “We Are the Champions” by Queen.

Still not sure? Check it out:

As Gwen herself (sorta) says: This clip is bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S.
