The animated film The Little Prince was originally set for a March 2016 theatrical release, but at the last minute the premiere date was canceled with no explanation.

Rather than dwelling on the “why,” we can now celebrate the film adaptation of Antoine Saint-Exupery’s novel having a new home at Netflix, available on August 5.

The story revolves around an aviator. His plane crashes in the desert where he meets a young prince. The prince reminds him of what it was like to be a child, bringing back memories of the aviator’s own imagination as a youth. The aviator shares his story with the little girl next door, hoping she will remember what it’s like to be a child when she grows up.

Along with the new premiere date is a new trailer:

The film is voiced by Jeff Bridges (The Aviator), Riley Osborne (The Little Prince), Marion Cotillard (The Rose), Benicio Del Toro (The Snake), James Franco (The Fox), and Mackenzie Foy (The Little Girl).

The Little Prince will be available on Netflix on August 5 and will also be released in select theaters.

Are you happy The Little Prince has found a new home?
