Yep, you read that right. Stormtrooper Finn from Star Wars: The Force Awakens is going to play an animated rabbit.

Deadline reports that a new adaptation of Watership Down will see actor John Boyega will play Bigwig, who, as fans of the original book or film will remember, is one of the heroes of a community of rabbits forced to leave their warren in rural England.

X-Men Apocalypse‘s James McAvoy will voice Hazel, with Mad Max: Fury Road‘s Nicholas Hoult playing his young brother Fiver, a rabbit seer plagued by nightmarish visions of the future, and The Jungle Book‘s Ben Kingsley voicing the villainous General Woundwort.

Olivia Colman (BroadchurchThe Night Manager), Gemma Arterton (Tamara Drewe), and Anne-Marie Duff (Suffragette) will also lend their voices to the four-part series.

The result of a partnership between the BBC and Netflix, this new computer-generated version of Richard Adams‘ book will come as a surprise to fans of the original. That’s because it was first adapted for screen in 1978, in an animated film that many people in the U.K remember fondly from their childhood, though some also remember the harrowing and sometimes graphic fight scenes that led to some of the adored rabbit characters dying.

To this day the soundtrack by Art Garfunkel, and in particular the song “Bright Eyes,” has the power to turn anyone who hears it into a blubbery mess.

“Before there was Harry Potter there was Watership Down,” explained the BBC’s Matthew Read. “Richard Adams’ novel is one of the most successful books of all time and one of the biggest selling books in history.”

He’s not wrong. *Sob*

The new Watership Down is due to air on Netflix in 2017.
