We’ve seen Elizabeth Banks don many over-the-top looks as Effie Trinket in the Hunger Games series. Now she takes on a streamlined, edgy version of the alien witch Rita Repulsa in the new Power Rangers reboot.

The story revolves around teen superheroes who call on their transformation morpher suits to protect Earth from aliens, robots, and all sorts of monsters. And who released this havoc? Oh, yes, Rita Repulsa can take credit for that.

Banks talked to People magazine about revamping the role, saying, “It’s definitely a modern and edgy re-imagining of the original Rita Repulsa.”

The magazine asked Banks what she was looking forward to, and without missing a beat, the actress responded, saying, “Obviously, first, world domination.”

Obviously.

Joking aside, she followed up with a straight answer, saying, “I’ve never played a villain before, let alone an alien warrior.”

She’s right: With great power comes great responsibility. Even for the baddies.

If you need a refresher, here’s a look at the original Rita Repulsa as a comparison:
