HBO comedy Veep is returning just in the nick of time, with a scandal-plagued female presidential candidate in the midst of a global economic disaster.

Ringing any bells yet? Nope, us neither.

Showrunner Armando Iannucci (The Thick of It, I’m Alan Partridge) has stepped down to pursue other projects, but by the look of the trailer, we’ve got nothing to worry about.

All the usual cast is there, including Anna Chlumsky, Tony Hale, and the glorious Julia Louis-Dreyfus as presidential hopeful Selina Meyer. Recent addition Hugh Laurie also returns to play Selina’s running mate/potential political rival, and new face John Slattery (Mad Men) is on board as her new love interest.

The pressure is on however, as this is the latest season to air after the show cleaned up at the Primetime Emmys in September.

Season five of Veep starts on HBO on April 24, the same night Game of Thrones returns for its sixth and Silicon Valley for its third.

May as well let your friends know now: you’re not leaving the house that night.
