A clean-shaven Sacha Baron Cohen swung by Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show to promote his new film The Brothers Grimbsy.

The problem was: the trailer itself wasn’t so clean.

As you may know, television and even online outlets have an editorial standard and refrain from airing topics or language deemed graphic.

Kimmel figured out a way to work around this. He decided to show his live audience the trailer and film their reaction. He gives people the option to leave the studio if they’re concerned about being offended.

Cohen takes the reins, while Kimmel takes a seat with the audience, setting up the clip, saying, “There’s basically a James Bond type (Mark Strong). I play his brother who is kind of a football hooligan. We end up on the road. We were in South Africa in this bit and, um, something bad has happened. And something worse is about to happen.”

We get to see the trailer through their eyes:

Cohen, who hasn’t been to Jimmy Kimmel Live in 12 years, wasn’t so keen on the idea. But he went with it.

The Brothers Grimsby is set to hit U.S. theaters on March 11. You can also look for other familiar faces like Cohen’s actress wife Isla Fisher, Penélope Cruz, Rebel Wilson, Ian McShane, and Tamsin Egerton.

What did you think of watching the trailer second hand?
