There are two, yes two, X-Men TV series in the works, with the first getting some momentum.

Marvel is working with both FX and Fox on spin-offs of the super mutant stories, so let’s first focus on the one that is already moving along.

FX’s Legion follows the story of David Haller. Haller has struggled with mental illness for years, having been diagnosed with schizophrenia. While institutionalized he comes to the realization that the voices he hears may be real.

Did we mention he’s the son of Charles Xavier?

Haller has yet to be cast, as it’s very early, but Deadline Hollywood has announced Fargo star Rachel Keller is the first actor to be confirmed. Her character is described as “a scrappy, optimistic woman,” whose potential powers may draw upon touch.

Prior to taking on the role of Simone Gerhardt in Fargo, Keller starred in one-off episodes of 2015’s Supernatural and The Mentalist. She was also spotted in the 2014 film Hollidaysburg.

She will be reuniting with Fargo creator Noah Hawley, who is set to write the Legion pilot.

Also working with Marvel, Fox is in the development stages on the X-Men spin-off entitled Hellfire, reports ComingSoon.net. The series follows a special agent in the 1960s. The agent has his (or could be her) eye on the Hellfire Club, a group of millionaires planning to take over the world.

The release dates have yet to be announced.
