James Corden’s late night segment Carpool Karaoke never gets old.
And how could it when he has amazing guests like the one and only Adele.
Corden hops on the phone and playfully says, “Hello? It’s me,” referencing the Grammy Award-winning singer’s song simply called “Hello.” And next thing we know Adele jumps in the car.
One of the draws of the segment is that we really don’t know what to expect. Sure, they’ll belt out some songs, but the impromptu banter really gets us.
The two entertainers start off the drive chatting about hair and how it can get in the way. Corden is understandably amused, saying, “What I like is that you’re coming to me for this advice.” In Adele’s defense, he’s the one who brought up the topic by complimenting her bob.
After exchanging pleasantries, they get down to business. It is called Carpool Karaoke for a reason, and they kick off the set with the aforementioned “Hello.” In between other songs like “Someone Like You” and the Spice Girls‘ “Wannabe,” Adele chugs her tea to avoid spillage, which results in her telling a story about downing wine three nights in a row over the holidays.
A LOT is covered in this London edition of Carpool Karaoke (Adele amazingly raps). Check it out below:
