Now, we didn’t even know this was a thing, but apparently, there really is a growing trend for Game of Thrones fans to record themselves doing impressions of Kit Harington‘s character Jon Snow and publish them on Youtube. And of course, like any internet phenomenon worth its salt, it hasn’t taken long for it to find its way back to the source.
This week on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kit was treated to a live linkup with three different Jon Snow impersonators in California, Wales and Ottawa, who each gave their own distinct take on the character, reading words from… somewhat unlikely sources. Here’s the clip:
Not to be outdone, of course, Kit showed everyone how it was done with a “Winter is Coming” of his own. They may all have the facial hair, but the voice remains his and his alone.
Kit was also asked about the weirdness of his character sharing his name with the popular journalist and news presenter, who has presented the U.K.’s Channel Four News for nearly three decades:
“The weird thing is,” he said, “I grew up watching him on TV, and I wanted to be him! I wanted to be a war correspondent, I grew up wanting to be Jon Snow! Crazy thing happens in my life, and I end up going to a different sort of battle as this Jon Snow! I think he’s secretly quite miffed, he woke up one day and he’d been usurped on Google!”
