“I’m watching you.” (AMC)

We included AMC’s Humans in our 2015 spotlight on British TV shows we’re looking forward to, and it’s almost here.

Humans kicks off this June, set in an alternate near future where household robot servants are as common as today’s iPhone.

Merlin’s Colin Morgan co-stars opposite Katherine Parkinson (The IT Crowd) and Oscar-winning American actor William Hurt (Damages).

The story revolves around humans who have become accustomed to the aid of robot workers and personal servants. The eight-part series is set in suburban London, taking place in a parallel present. The latest must-have gadget for any busy family is a Synth, which is a highly developed, artificially intelligent servant eerily similar to its living counterpart.

Morgan’s return to U.S. television was announced in October 2014. While the details for Morgan’s character Leo are still unknown, and he doesn’t appear in the below clip, we’re keen to see The IT Crowd’s Parkinson stand her ground when her family’s new robot gets a little too comfy in her home:

Humans is set to premiere on AMC in June 2015.
