Famed Vanity Fair photographer Annie Leibovitz swung by the set of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, releasing new photos and a behind-the-scenes video featuring Leibovitz’s shoot just in time for Star Wars Day (May 4).
VF released six new photos on Sunday (May 3) in advance of the print publication being released in June. You can see all six photos at Vanity Fair’s website.
The photo that stood out to us most is of British starlet-in-the-making Daisy Ridley in character as Rey. She’s seen piloting her speeder on the planet Jakku in the below photo.
It’s too bad we only have the one photo, but no need to be bummed on Star Wars Day because the behind-the-scenes video is topped up with more of Ridley. She’s seen on set acting, speaking directly to fans through the camera, and even chatting it up with director J.J. Abrams. The video also includes a quick glimpse of fellow British actor John Boyega:
Prior to landing this prime gig, Ridley, 23, was seen in in a handful of British TV series, including Casualty (2013), Youngers (2013), Toast of London (2013), Silent Witness (2014), and Mr. Selfridge (2014).
We look forward to seeing more of her in 2015.
May the Fourth be with you! Any plans to celebrate the day?
