Michael Fassbender volunteers to chaperone Kodi Smit-McPhee across the frontier in Slow West. (See-Saw Films)

Irish-German actor Michael Fassbender (12 Years a Slave, X-Men) portrays an American frontiersman in the western comedy Slow West.

Fassbender meets a young boy from Scotland (Kodi Smit-McPhee) who has traveled to America on his own. The young traveler has followed his first love to America, but he’s not the only one looking for his girl. The young lady has a $2000 bounty on her head.

The more seasoned gent (Fassbender) realizes this boy will not make it far without a “chaperone.”

The Wild West is survival of the fittest where “the most dangerous are the last to fall,” as seen in the trailer below:

Slow West reunites the Anglo fan favorite with BAFTA-winning director John Maclean, who directed Fassbender in the short film Pitch Black Heist.

This is Maclean’s feature film debut.

Game of ThronesRory McCann also stars.
