There’s a lovely long in-depth interview with Steven Moffat from 2013 that the BBC Writer’s Room has just put on YouTube, which he describes how he writes, why he writes, whose writing he admires and how it works being the Show Runner and Lead Writer on Doctor Who.

There are sage words of wisdom for all aspiring writers and some fun items of little-known trivia, plus it’s always interesting to revisit interviews with creatives when you’ve seen the finished items that they’re talking about still having to create:

Notable points of interest include:

• He has a Weeping Angel in his garden.

• He’s a terrific fan of TV comedy.

• He can’t sing.

Doctor Who’s “Blink” and Sherlock’s “A Scandal In Belgravia” were both shot in the same house.
