Throwing on a silly red nose can make a difference with the U.K.’s Comic Relief’s annual Red Nose Day telethon hitting the £1 billion ($1.5bn) mark in fundraising this year, marking its 30th anniversary. Broadchurch‘s David Tennant sums up the effort very nicely in the below video:

Here are some highlights leading up to the big day (March 13):

Great way to start the day off right.

A fun red nose wasn’t too silly for this guy.

David Tennant talked the talk, and wore the nose.

Doctor Who‘s Peter Capaldi traveled for the big day.

You may recognize these familiar faces.

Singer Lily Allen wore her nose proudly on her tee.

Umm, where is Sam Smith’s nose?

Oh, there it is!

Radio presenter and X Factor host Dermot O’Leary took on a challenge.

This makes us tired just watching it.

The night was topped up with some of our faves.

In case you missed it.

Lil red noses got in on the fun.

The red nose could be infectious.

This is nothing to sneeze at.

Congrats to another successful Red Nose Day!
