Russell Tovey stars as a British convict shipped to Australia in Banished. (BBC2)

Being Human’s Russell Tovey made his way to the U.S. in 2013 to star in the HBO series Looking, and is now making his way back to BBC Two, starring in the Australian-based series Banished.

Tovey stars opposite Ripper Street’s MyAnna Buring and Game of ThronesRory McCann in the seven-part series, which kicks off in the U.K. on March 5, reports RadioTimes.

The story is set in 1788 Australia when the British set up its first penal colony, made up mostly of convicts and soldiers, in New South Wales. Tovey plays one of said convicts banished to the new world, where there are new rules.
