You may have already seen this, but it bears repeating. Because no matter how impressive it seems the first time, it’s only on the second or third viewing that you realize how odd it must be for Martin Freeman to reenact scenes he previously played as his career was first blossoming, in the context of The Hobbit, arguably his biggest success to date (with Sherlock running it a very close second).

Not bad odd, there has to be an enormous feeling of personal triumph that comes with it, but odd all the same. As part of his stint hosting Saturday Night Live this week, he put on the Bilbo suit once more, in order to take part in their skit The Office: Middle Earth, a shot-for-shot recreation of some of the greatest hits of the original British series of The Office, but with orcs.

And the other reason it bears repeating is simply because it’s fantastic. Just take a look:

Although it’s interesting how irreplaceable Ricky Gervais is, even in this spoof.
