Sherlock’s Martin Freeman is stepping out of his comfort zone and into sketch comedy, hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend on December 13.

The British actor talked to USA Today, saying, “(SNL) is not exactly my world. And New York sketch comedy is not my home turf … so I’m hoping they’ll be gentle with me.”

In preparation for his hosting debut, Freeman teamed up with SNL member Kate McKinnon for a warm-up. The two chat a bit, dance a bit, drink a bit (of tea), and get into some old fashioned Benny Hill-style shenanigans music and all.
