Scottish radio and TV broadcaster Edith Bowman is no stranger to fame. She covered Live 8 for BBC Scotland in 2005, won charity music competition Comic Relief Does Fame Academy the same year, covered BBC’s Live Earth in 2007, and just wrapped up 11 years on BBC Radio 1. She’ll also be hosting the red carpet pre-show for BAFTA Los Angeles Jaguar Britannia Awards, which will air on BBC AMERICA on Sunday, November 2 at 9/8c.

She’s used to asking the questions, but the tables were turned when she joined us Wednesday (October 22) for a @MindtheGap_BBCA #MindTheChat Twitter session for the low-down on what it’s really like to interview celebs on the red carpet.

Edith reveals who she’s excited to interview during the Britannia Awards:

And her trickiest interview subject:

She shares that, this year, her favorite music festival was Bestival on England’s Isle of Wight:

She gives her two cents on Rosamund Pike‘s brilliance in Gone Girl:

And on her favorite Editors song. (She’s married to the band’s frontman Tom Smith):

Edith tells a fan about her blossoming friendship with Simon Pegg.

And tells another fan what she loves most about her hometown, Anstruther in Scotland.

She also shares her excitement for Emma Watson‘s Britannia award:

And her favorite part of the United States:

She clearly loves Peter Capaldi as the new Doctor:

And is a fan of Leonardo DiCaprio in general:

Finally, she comments on Benedict Cumberbatch‘s imminent and well-deserved success:
