Let’s face it, for as long as people we like are prepared to stand under a downpour of water and ice in order to raise funds and awareness for ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease, or Motor Neurone Disease), we’ll continue to put the videos up. Especially as we still seem to be waiting for Benedict Cumberbatch to pull his finger out. Or his brolly. UPDATED: Cumberbatch has stepped up quite admirably, in fact.

This should more than make up for the wait, however. Not only does Matt Smith take the plunge (or more correctly have the plunge tipped all over his head), he does it standing next to an iconic red British post box and hugs the boys who are teasing him after he does it.

And yes, that means Karen Gillan will probably do it soon, maybe even today! Fingers crossed!
