After events in Cardiff, London, Seoul and Sydney, the North American leg of the Doctor Who World Tour kicked off on Thursday (August 14), with new Doctor Peter Capaldi, companion Jenna Coleman, and lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat landing in New York to much fanfare. Emphasis on “fan,” as hundreds of loyal Whovians turned out to get the U.S.’s very first screening of Doctor Who‘s Season 8 premiere, “Deep Breath,” at the Midtown’s storied Ziegfeld Theater. That episode—which, no spoiler, is a belter—was followed by a Q&A with Capaldi, Coleman, and Moffat with host and superfan Chris Hardwick keeping the festivities moving. Here were a few highlights via Twitter.
