The Night at the Museum films have, despite being vehicles for Ben Stiller, always had something of a strong British connection, thanks largely to the presence of Ricky Gervais and Steve Coogan in supporting roles in both movies so far. This new trailer for the third movie, subtitled Secret of the Tomb, takes the Brit link yet further, as it shows that at least a significant chunk of the story will be set in London:
In addition to assorted adventures around the British Museum and Trafalgar Square, the trailer also shows the addition of a couple of extra Brits to the cast: Sir Ben Kingsley as a Pharoah, and Downton Abbey‘s Dan Stevens (who gets a pretty excellent gag in the trailer) as Sir Lancelot. Coogan and Gervais are also among several of the original film’s cast to return.
Oh, and there’s Rebel Wilson, who as we mentioned recently seems to be becoming something of a go-to for Hollywood comedies in need of an amusing British character, despite actually being Australian…
Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb lands in theaters on December 19.
