Snapshot: 14 Photos of British Parades

Fourth of July falls on a Friday this year, and people are already gearing up for the three-day weekend. It’s a big day to celebrate in the U.S. with get-togethers, barbecues and fire works. And in the U.K. … umm, not so much. Comedian and actor Stephen Merchant addresses the sensitive (not really) issue of the U.S. winning its independence from Great Britain in this (NSFW) ad for Newscastle Brown Ale where he compares the Fourth of July celebration to a breakup saying, “That’s like your girlfriend breaking up with you and celebrating every year … with fireworks. Every. Year. For three hundred years!”

It really gets his goat, and with that said, let’s celebrate some better times in the U.K. with these spectacular parades:
