‘Doctor Who’ Releases Season 8 Image, Video Teaser Revealing Premiere Date!

Initially, we were told “later this year,” and then we narrowed it down to August, but now, without any equivocation, a brand-new teaser pinpoints the airdate and time for Peter Capaldi‘s first full episode as the Doctor. Clear your calendars, folks: Doctor Who Season 8 is set to launch Saturday, August 23 at 8/7c. The premiere episode is titled “Deep Breath.”

And we’ve also received the striking above image of Capaldi, flashing the red lining of his Pertwee-esque coat, and Jenna Coleman‘s Clara.

Check out the teaser. It’s an apparent continuation to the previous video featuring the Twelfth Doctor in a burning TARDIS, but in this one, you can hear bits of dialogue featuring the Doctor and Clara. The last line gave us the shivers.

This should be the player used to embed videos.
