English supermodel Cara Delevingne, 21, apparently fell into modeling after her attempt at an acting career didn’t quite pan out, reports GQ U.K. She’s giving it another go.
Delevingne has signed on to star in Sky Arts Playhouse Presents’ short film Timeless. Delevingne portrays a young woman who turns to her great grandmother (Sylvia Syms) for comfort while her soldier fiancé is serving in Afghanistan. The film will appear on Sky Arts on June 19.
GQ asks Delevingne why she chose this project, and she humbly responds, “I wish I could say I chose it. I was lucky enough to get it. When I found out I got it I was incredibly happy. Sky Arts is an incredible thing to do. The amount of amazing actors who have done the Playhouse … I was lucky to do it, especially being alongside someone like Sylvia. It was amazing. Of course I loved it.”
You can watch the trailer for the Playhouse Presents series of shorts below, providing a brief glimpse of Delevingne and some other familiar faces like Billie Piper, Mark Strong and Ben Whishaw:
Delevingne recently appeared in a short film for Yves Saint Laurent called From Lips to Love. The advert is geared toward women shopping for a new shade of lipstick, but it may attract male viewers just as well with Delevingne getting her flirt on.
The thing is, Delevingne only has eyes for one person. See who it is in the clip below:
This isn’t the model’s first acting role: she starred in the film adaptation of Leo Tolstoy‘s story Anna Karenina, opposite Keira Knightley, as Princess Sorokina.
Do you think Cara Delevingne can balance both a modeling and acting career? We say, why not!
