Sad news on this April 7: British model, writer, and TV personality Peaches Geldof, daughter of rocker/humanitarian Sir Bob Geldof and the late British TV host Paula Yates, has died at age 25, BBC NEWS reports.
“In a statement, police said they were called to an address near Wrotham, Kent on Monday afternoon following a report of concern for the welfare of a woman,” the BBC report says. “The woman, aged 25, was later pronounced dead by South East Coast Ambulance Service.” No cause of death has been provided; police are calling it “unexplained and sudden.”
Along with her father, sisters Fifi Trixibelle, Pixie, and Tiger Lily, she is survived by her husband, musician Thomas Cohen of the band S.C.U.M., and two young sons Astala and Phaedra.
Here she is, in an interview on ITV’s This Morning program from late last year, speaking on the benefits of “attachment parenting”:
Peaches Geldof’s father, Sir Bob, released this wrenching statement earlier today:
Peaches has died. We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us.
Writing “was” destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever. How sad that sentence is.
Tom and her sons Astala and Phaedra will always belong in our family, fractured so often, but never broken.

Peaches’ final tweet was a photo of her, as a child, alongside her mother (who died in 2000 of a drug overdose).
