We’re now only a few days away from the 86th Academy Awards, and as usual, there’s a startling array of dazzling movies, directors, actors and actresses all jostling for position on that podium.

In fact, there are so many nominations it would take a skilled video editor about a month to pull together a decent five-minute montage of all of them, wouldn’t you say? That’s certainly what Matt Zabita found when he put together this compilation of everything but the shorts.

Among the ingredients in this particular Oscar stew, there’s a healthy dash of Chiwetel Ejiofor in 12 Years A Slave, a nip of Dame Judi Dench in Philomena, a pinch of Emma Thompson in Saving Mr Banks, a smidgeon of Idris Elba and Naomie Harris in Mandela and a huge handful of Christian Bale’s tummy in American Hustle.

And in case you’re wondering about the music, that’s “Chim Chim Cher-ee (East Wind)” from the soundtrack to Saving Mr Banks followed by “Shenzou” from Steven Price’s soundtrack to Gravity.

The Academy Awards will be on ABC on Sunday March 2.
