Add Minnie Driver to the long list of performers who’ve publicly announced their wish to land roles on Downton Abbey.

When the British actress appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show earlier this week, host Ellen DeGeneres helped Driver to get her wish. Driver was on Ellen to promote About a Boy, her new NBC sitcom based on the 2002 movie of the same name.

The two starred in a Downton-ish comedy sketch that DeGeneres billed as Driver’s audition for the hit British series. The problem? Driver hadn’t seen the script ahead of time and was reading her lines for the first time off a teleprompter.

The results were highly amusing, especially when Driver had to bark like a dog. Take a look:
