We don’t have a lot to say about this. There are no fresh clues, no further hints or titillations. All you need to know is this is the first official picture from the forthcoming season three of Sherlock, and that it says quite a lot about where we’re at before we even get started.

This comes after August’s teaser trailer, that has racked up over four-and-a-half million views since it was first published.

And that’s it. One further notch on the anticipation ratchet. And no clear explanation of the biggest question of the show so far: what is happening with John Watson’s moustache, and when will we get to see its bushy majesty in full?
