There are many reasons to fall in love with Doctor Who‘s Alex Kingston. Those fiercely expressively eyes. That hair. That voice that conveys both instruction and seduction. The warmth, sauciness, and deep well of emotion that she brings to all of her roles.

It’s no surprise that she’s amassed an army of fans (the Kinglets!), who helped to lift the gifted British actress to victory in our third annual Anglo Fan Favorites women’s tournament, which concluded yesterday (October 3).

But she’s also really lovely in person. Our crew at BBC AMERICA interviewed her about her success in our tournament, and she was genuinely moved by the level of support she had received. She taped this message, which we can now reveal to all of you:
