Hot on the heels of Prince William‘s first post-fatherhood interview with CNN this week, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have made public the first official family photographs with their son Prince George Alexander Louis.
Traditionally, photographs of newborn heirs are taken by professional photographers at their royal residences – so the Duke and Duchess’ pictures represent a significant break with convention, having instead been taken by Catherine’s father, Michael Middleton, in the grounds of the grandparents’ Berkshire mansion. They show the family in a happy and relaxed mood, while Lupo, the Duke and Duchess’ pet cocker spaniel, completes the family group in the second of the pictures.
In an interview to be aired in September, a proud William told CNN, that the prince, who is third in line to the throne, is “a little bit of a rascal. He either reminds me of my brother or me when I was younger, I’m not sure, but he’s doing very well at the moment.”
